The Paganini Fencing Center has been created for training future athletes in the sport of fencing. We provide professional competitive fencing instruction for all ages and skill levels, developing the strength, flexibility, reflexes, mental awareness, strategy, technique and sportsmanship required for competing at the highest level in National and collegiate NCAA competitions, International World Cups and Olympics.
Paganini Fencing Center is an evolution of Rockwall Fencing Academy, founded in 2005 by co-owners Marvin and Cindy Gregory, and Dr. Steve Arze.
The name was inspired by the Italian composer and violin virtuoso Niccolo Paganini. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique.
Coach Hector was given this nickname by his former coach Waldek Czaja from time to time when he performed a fencing action artfully, with finesse and clarity.
Fencers are completely dependent on the referee’s judgment for who scores the point, much like how Paganini was dependent upon his audience.
Fencing like Paganini plays music means to perform at the highest level with all one’s heart, mind, and spirit. Fencing is very much an art, and it is important to clearly communicate one’s intentions to the referee.
Paganini Fencing Center is not just concerned with teaching the art of fencing, but with the complete personal development of each student. Individual attention is an element of each and every class, allowing all students to progress confidently toward their personal goals. Classes teach students responsibility, strong character, leadership skills, and ethical conduct.
